ROSALIND MAI STAITE

On a cold December night two weeks before Christmas, the little dog Whisky was desperately worried. His owners had not returned home earlier that day leaving him alone, hungry and scared. In great distress he fretted for their return while the days dragged relentlessly on. After waiting for them for almost two weeks he finally realised that they had deserted him. 

Homeless and with nothing left to live for, his will to live began to ebb away. In despair and malnourished he did not know what to do but driven by the cold and hunger, he decided to leave the area and risk everything on a desperate gamble to find another place to live.

Later, a beautiful sleek seagull discovered him barely conscious and lost. Deciding to help Whisky, he guides him to a seaport and onto a survey ship bound for a pacific island. During this epic journey he meets interesting animals and humans and witnesses some frightening events and strange powers.

He understands why he was abandoned, which leads him to rethink his intentions and gives him the will to live again.
